Duck season! Rabbit season!

Well it’s that time of year again. It’s time for writers all over the world to go absolutely, frothing at the mouth mad because eleven years ago, a few people decided that it would be a neat idea to write a 50,000 word novel, all during the month of November.  I don’t know what they were thinking, but apparently the idea was good enough that it spread. In Year One, 21 wrote, and it wasn’t even in November yet. Last year was Year Eleven, and while I have no concrete numbers (since Chris Baty hasn’t updated his history page yet), I can tell you that a shitload more than 21 people were noveling well into the night, every night, all November. I’m pretty sure there were more than 21 of us just in the Evansville region, one of the smaller regions on the site.

So what does Year Twelve hold for me? Other than the naive optimistic outlook of my first success in my four years of trying, I’m not sure. I might start over an existing plot, find a new plot, or go without a plot, as I have in years passed. I don’t know which, but I’m also toying with the idea of posting my progress every day on here. You know, to give you some content more than once a month?  We’ll see what happens.
