Reboot
Well here I go again, looking at the failure that my last serial story is and realizing what an eyesore it is, then wiping it and starting over.
Well, that’s not entirely true. For one, I didn’t delete any posts this time, I just made them “drafts.” They’re still there if I ever want them to come back. For two, the fiction itself is still viewable, over on the side there under “Stories,” though I still need to figure out how to clean that up, or whether it’s even worth it for me to do what I’m thinking about doing (set it up so you can read the story chapter by chapter instead of in one big ass block). Perhaps outlining and splitting them up into actual chapters might help, too.
I have also decided that, in this reboot of my endeavor to create a hub for fiction and enjoyment, I will not shy away from publishing posts that are a bit light on the whole fiction thing. Obviously I’m not going to go balls to the wall crazy, but if I have something I want to say (for example, an article/nonfiction essay/rant about something), I’ll post it. It’ll have a note that it’s not part of the continuum, obviously, but I’m not going to deny my muse.
You might be wondering what’s going to happen to my already started stories. Am I going to scrap them? Finish them? Reboot them?
Yes.
Okay, now for the serious answer. My plan with them is to plot them out a bit better and revise things to work better. So, while they probably will not remain where they are in their current state, you will be seeing those characters again.
Update schedule! Because I need to do something regularly, mostly to prove, in the face of previous failures, that I actually can be reliable when I want to be. I’m thinking once a week, though I have not decided on the day yet. When I have other things that need figuring out first figured out, I’ll get back to you. In the meantime, I know somebody who needs a bit of help in the outlining department.

Speaking of outlining. It’s almost September, which means it’s almost October, which means November is just around the corner. Got a plan for NaNoWriMo yet?
